Dr. Edzer Huitema joined E Ink Corporation in 2019 and currently serves as its Chief Technology Officer. Prior to joining E Ink, Edzer was working as Senior Manager at Apple in the field of new display technology. Before that Edzer was CTO of start-ups Polyera and Polymer Vision where he pioneered flexible and foldable electrophoretic displays and devices. Edzer started his career in 2000 at Philips Research in the Netherlands working on organic electronics and flexible display technology. During his career Edzer gained a broad expertise in display technology ranging from electrophoretic, OLED and µLED displays to organic electronics and oxide transistors. Edzer has published about his work in numerous papers and books including Nature, Nature Materials and Advanced Materials and holds 71 granted US Patents. Edzer holds a master’s degree Chemistry and a PhD in Physical Chemistry, both with honors.
