Oerlikon Balzers has developed a new nano-carbon based thin-film. The new thin-film can be used as a NTC type temperature sensor element or as piezo-resistive strain gauge material. It is a thin-film (less than 1 µm) produced by Physical Vapour Deposition (PVD) and can be combined with flexible and printed circuit boards to construct sensors.
