Biography

Dirk studied mechanical engineering / plastic processing at the technical university RWTH Aachen at the institute for plastic processing (IKV) Aachen. With his focus on extrusion technology Dirk joined packaging film company Wolff Walsrode as R&D Manager. Since 2000 he started Bayer as technical manager for polycarbonate films in Leverkusen, afterwards heading the product and application development for films in Europe and later as head of automotive for specialty films at Covestro. Today Dirk´s role is Global Segment Manager at Specialty Films for Consumer & Industrial. Dirk Pophusen applied for several patents mainly in field of film technology and published several papers and presentations and he is heading the annual automotive film conference Folien + Fahrzeug / Plastics Films in Mobility.
